New research indicates that we may fear people of different races, in part, due to the evolution of the fear instinct. If this is so, it also appears that this fear may not have evolved in the same way as fear of snakes or other creatures.

The Psychology of Racism
What is racism and why is it so widespread in most cultures? Like all behaviors practiced by human beings there must be a psychological basis for it's existence. In your blog/journal I want you to think and write about what you believe causes so many people to hold racist beliefs. Please write a minimum of 200 words and include one picture related to your entry. (be sure to site any references that you use in your research.)
